As per to the a KNEC officer, the council has chosen to pay the examiners before July since they are under pressure to settle their accounts before receiving the budget for the fiscal year 2022/ 2023.
It should be remembered that it was originally planned to settle all KNEC contracted professionals’ dues by the end of the month, and so far, KNEC has taken the first steps toward that goal by ensuring that all invigilators, supervisors, center managers, security personnel, and drivers who participated in the 2021 KCPE and KCSE have been paid.
The above-mentioned contract professionals were paid in full yesterday.
It is only examiners are currently awaiting sorting by KNEC. Examiners for the KCSE had already been paid a deposit ranging from ksh 10,000 to ksh 20,0000, depending on the paper.
Their balances will be paid in full, rather than in installments as it was last year.
