The current Education cabinet secretary has given a hint that rush to boarding secondary schools will be delayed to Grade (9) Nine.
Going by the Cs. sentiments, New [Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) taskforce report had rooted for day schools when the transition to junior secondary schools is fully rolled out in next year( beginning January 2023).

After attending commissioning exercise for the new junior secondary school classes at Kariobangi North Girls High School in Nairobi, C. Magoha indicated that the new level of education is geared towards a day school setting and not boarding.
At the same time, Magoha encouraged parents to take their children to day schools since only three streams for junior secondary school.
According to Magoha, the Kenyan government has already spent Sh788,000 for the junior classroom that are expected to be ready and operational as programmed.
