Do you remember your childhood days when you used to get sad wearing the same uniform to school every day, more so after seeing the teachers in colorful outfits?
I think this has happened to everyone, at least in the first few years.
Fortunately, this is not the case in some African schools.
Here are some principals who think that teachers should wear school uniforms to identify with the students.
One of them is Mr. Alex Maina Kariuki, Principal of Friends School Kamunga in Kenya.
Mr. Alex is always happy to wear the school uniform as he spends his time with the students.
“When people see me in school uniform, I don’t know what they think of me, but I would think they see me as a clown,” says Mr. Alex.
Mr. Kariuki with his students and his uniform at school.
There are many reasons to wear the uniform, he said.
The first reason is to identify with the student.
The second reason is to reveal the rank of a principal.
The third reason is to check the quality of the uniforms my students are wearing.
He said that all the teachers should wear school uniform to identify themselves with the students.
“I feel very comfortable, I don’t feel uncomfortable and it reminds me of the days when I was a student,” Kariuki said.
