The current Education Cabinet Secretary Cs.Ezekiel Machogu has nominated a new chairperson and two other council members for Kenyatta University administration job.
Under a gazette notice published on Friday, CS Machogu appointed Shem Migot-Adholla after terminating the appointment of Prof. Kiamba .
Professor Migot Adholla who had been ousted from the same position by the previous government over Kenyatta University land disputes that existed for long.
CS.Ezekiel Machogu appointed Eric Kindon Sila and Mary Mugo who will be serving as members of the new council for one year each.
Cs. Machogu directed that Prof. Shem Migot Adholla will take over the council for one year beginning today, November 4 as Eric Sila and Mary Mugo will serve as council members for the same period .
Part of the notice read that, “In exercise of powers conferred by section 36 (1) (a) and (d) of the Universities Act, 2012, the Cabinet Secretary for Education appoints Shem Migot-Adholla, as the chairperson and Eric Kindon Sila, Mary Mugo, as members of the Council of Kenyatta University for a period of one (1) year with effect from 4th November 2022.”
According to the gazette notifications,nominations of Professor Chrispus Kiamba, Jane Wamoko, and Carilus Odero Odumbe have been suspended.
