CBC To Be Scrapped As CS Enters Office :- CBC to be scrapped completely as grade six learners to proceed Upto class 8 following the usual 8.4.4 systems
Many questions about the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) had been brought forth for discussion in the regime yet to take over. The newly implemented program suffered partial resistance from stakeholders with a section of parents citing the expensive part of the curriculum.
CBC is perhaps one of the issues to be checked upon by the new government once it takes full control.
Professor George Magoha, the Cabinet Secretary of Education, insisted that the new curriculum was there to stay and more efforts including construction of classes across the country are already underway.
Regardless of their political affiliation, many Kenyans have had a divided opinion on whether CBC is a better option for future generations or should the country revert to the 8.4.4 system.
Lord Abraham Mutai, an Azimio supporter, has now urged the incoming government to review the program. According to Mutai, he disagrees with the ongoing system, calling on Ruto’s government to revisit it.
On CBC, I support the proposal to review CBC! I have said this before. I continue standing by this. I vehemently disagreed with CBC. I still do!” He reiterated.
Professor Magoha expressed interest in working with Ruto’s government but only if they will hold a conversation over a number of issues. I’m convinced that CBC could be one of them.
We are open to your contributions on this matter, should the new regime do away with CBC?
