Cabinet Secretary of Education, Professor George Magoha gives out new rules concerning school reopening and what will happen if there will be another elections.
According to Magoha, the planned reopening of the school has not changed. Magoha said in a press release that all institutes of basic education will resume on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
This was done in order to give the independent electoral and boundaries commission time to complete the verification of the presidential results and their tally.
After a three-week midterm vacation, schools are set to resume on Thursday, as the IEBC has already announced the winner of the election for president.
Today, Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Mwangaza Secondary School, Professor Magoha stated that students, particularly those attending boarding schools, would not return home if there were to be another election.
The CS stated that students cannot afford to lose again and that they will continue with their education even if there is another election.
He urged IEBC to carry out the election on universities and colleges so that primary and secondary schools students can remain in school.
