Dr. William Samoei Ruto, Kenya’s Deputy President, is a member of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance coalition and is running for President on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) platform. The vice president has had a tense relationship with Kenyan President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta for the past few years.
When they ran for President in early 2013, education was one of the big four goals they promised to achieve during their term. In order to expose children to modern technology, the government agreed to provide laptops for them to use during the CBC show.
Unfortunately, the program came to a standstill after Vice President William Ruto separated with President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, and most schools have yet to receive computers as promised.
Furthermore, most parents are unhappy with the CBC program, stating that it is too expensive. The cost of graduation regalia for the newborn class, fourth grade, and sixth grade, including the enrollment fee, is quite high.
The CBC program will be terminated, according to the deputy president of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance brigade, because it is not working in Kenya.
According to Professor George Magoha, the majority of parents have switched their children from the CBC to an international program. This is due to the fact that most parents do not believe CBC has the ability to influence their children’s lives.
