Janet Kasilly Barasa, a professor, is the wife of Fernandes Barasa. They are fortunate to have four kids.
He was raised in the Mumias East constituency of Kakamega County in the settlement of Khabondi.
He attended Naitiri High School before enrolling at Kenyatta University to earn his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in accounting and finance.
Former Chairman of the esteemed Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, Barasa is a Fellow of Chartered Professional Accountants (FCPA) (2015 – 2017).
He received The Order of Grand Warrior (OGW) award while serving as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO), in honor of his exceptional and illustrious contribution to the country in various positions.
Barasa participates personally in community development programs that have significantly improved livelihoods in Kakamega County.
