The teachers teaching in the technical Vocational Education training have now asked the government to Urgently address their issues
Most of them are claiming that they have not been promoted since they were transfered from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to the Public Service Commission more than four years now .
According to KATTl-Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions chairperson Glory Mutungi , up to now the role of deputy principals, deans and registrars in technical institutions has not been recognised and remunerated.
Whole addressing a training forum in Mombasa yesterday, she indicated that the Ministry of Education has not set aside funds for professional development.
She therefore called for the implementation of the tutors’ scheme of service to end the ongoing uncertainty in TVETS.
Ms. Mutungi further urged the ministry to disburse capitation early or allow the institutions to collect tuition fees.
