Over the last few weeks, there have been a number of school fires that have shocked not only the parents of the students in those schools but the entire country as well.
These fires have, in most cases been caused by students who have been arrested while in some, the cause of the fire has totally not been established by the relevant authorities.
The Government through the Ministry of Education, decided to award the kids a half term break a few days ago to ease on the number of fires reported but this doesn’t seem to have helped.
Since the mid term break, more schools have been razed down by fires that have totally destroyed property worth millions of shillings.
Below are the schools that have experienced fires since the mid term break elapsed a few days ago:
Bosiango High School, Nyamira County.
This school in Nyamira County burnt yesterday night but no students was injured.
Lari Boys High School, Kiambu County.
This one burnt about two days ago and it’s still unclear as to who started the inferno that razed the dormitory down.
St. Mary’s Yalla Girls School, Siaya County.
This is the second girls school to see a fire incident since the outbreak of these fires after the mid term break.
Karima Boys High School, Nyeri County.
This popular boys high school in Othaya saw a new dormitory burn last night in an unexplained inferno.
Njabini Boys High School, Nyandarua County.
