A total of 410 teachers were declared by Governor Anne Waiguru to have been promoted to permanent and pensionable terms of service.
According to the governor,this is part of her determination to enhance the terms and conditions of work for these category of teachers.
The governor spoke during the handing of letters of employment to the teachers on Wednesday at Kutus county headquarters in kirinyaga County.
These teachers will be earning a salary of between Sh22,000 and Sh49,000 per month.
In the past, these teachers earned between Sh11,000 and Sh15,000.
According to Waiguru, the implementation of this new service will be done immediately.
