The 38th graduation ceremony of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has been postponed from Friday, June 24, to Tuesday, June 28, 2022.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the university said the adjustment was prompted by “new developments,” and advised all prospective graduates to “adapt and plan accordingly.”
Dr. Esther Muoria, the JKUAT Registrar of Academic Affairs, said in a statement that the graduation ceremony will be held virtually on the said date for all graduands excluding PhDs.
Ph.D graduands wishing to participate in the ceremony must attend a physical rehearsal on Monday, 27th June 2022 at 10.00 a.m. in person. All other graduands will be expected to participate in the rehearsals virtually on the same Monday,” stated Dr. Muoria.
Dr. Muoria further announced that the graduands are expected to pay a non-refundable fee not later than Monday, June 20, depending on their qualifications; whether for PhDs, degrees, diplomas, or certificates.
They graduands are also expected to have cleared their school fee arrears by the said date, failure to which they will be disqualified from the graduation ceremony.
The non-refundable graduation charges vary as follows;
A. Certificate; Graduation Fee (Ksh.2,000) + Hire of academic dress (Ksh.600 – optional) + Alumni fee, totaling Ksh.3,700.
B. Undergraduate degree/Diploma; Graduation Fee (Ksh.3,500) + Hire of academic dress (Ksh.600 – optional) + Alumni fee (Ksh.1,100), totaling Ksh.5,200.
C. Post-Graduate Diplomas; Graduation Fee (Ksh.4,500) + Hire of academic dress (Ksh.600 – optional) + Alumni fee (Ksh.1,100), totaling Ksh.6,200.
D. Masters; Graduation Fee (Ksh.5,000) + Hire of academic dress (Ksh.700 – optional) + Alumni fee (Ksh.1,100), totaling Ksh.6,800.
E. Ph.D; Graduation Fee (Ksh.5,500) + Hire of academic dress (Ksh.1,000) + Alumni fee (Ksh.1,100), totaling Ksh.7,600.
