Over the last few weeks, incidents of school fires have been on the rise across the country with the Ministry of Education unsure of what to do to mitigate this scourge.
In some cases students have been arrested and brought to book for the burning of their schools while in others, there’s still no charges brought against any student due to the burnings.
This morning, we have received reports that Tarang’anya highschool which is located in Migori county within Nyanza region was on fire.
The boarding school is a county school that has always done well in national exams through the years.
Taranganya High School that is found in Kuria west subcounty burnt down last night in a Dormitory fire that saw millions of shillings worth of property destroyed.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established by the authorities and no student has been arrested.
It’s unclear as to why the Dormitory was razed down by the fire but investigations have commenced into the horrific incident last night that had no injuries.
