Teachers Service Commission is a government agency that deals with the matter of teachers in basic education. The commission consists of a chairman and other commissioners who help in policy making.
The TSC also has a Secretariat which implements policies and programs on its behalf.
The Secretariat is headed by a CEO who is assisted by regional directors, county directors and deputy county directors at the grassroots level.
Directors can be transferred anywhere within the country as and when the Commission takes a decision based on its stated objectives.
Today, Busia County is set to receive a new director, Mr. Charles Omoyo, who has reportedly been transferred from Bomet County.
Taking to the teachers’ social media wall, Busia Kuppet’s executive secretary Moffst Okisai announced that the new county director would replace Mrs. Bestrice. who were also transferred.
Okisai said the KUPPET office is ready to receive them this morning and will be ready to work with them.
The Secretary took this opportunity to inform the member that there is also a new Deputy County Director, Mrs. Judith Anyango in Nambale Sub-County.
The commission is currently at loggerheads with the teachers after most of the teachers refused to enroll for the TPD courses.
Part of the county director’s responsibility is to ensure that teachers comply with the latest requirements of the commission.
Mr. Omoyo is therefore entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that the tutors in his jurisdiction are registered for the TPD.
