All students who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) national test between the years 2000 and 2021 are eligible to participate in a government-sponsored program that would provide them with technical training.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) made an announcement on Thursday, October 6, stating that there are over 300,000 sponsorship spaces that need to be filled.
According to a statement released on Thursday, October 6th, qualified applicants will be accepted into certificate, craft, and diploma programs beginning in January 2023.
All KCSE certificate holders who sat the examination from the year 2000 to 2021 and have not benefited from government sponsorship for TVET training are eligible to apply where they meet the minimum requirements,” read part of the statement.
Applicants must submit their applications between Friday, October 7 and Sunday, October 16.
Requirements
The statement also listed the minimum requirements for the applicants. For Artisan Certificate Course one should have attained a mean grade of D-(minus) and below.
On the other hand, for Craft and Certificate Courses the applicant should have a mean grade of D (plain) and above, and for Diploma courses, an applicant should have attained a C- (minus) and above.
How to Apply
Applicants should visit the student portal through the KUCCPS website www.kuccps.ac.ke.
The online application requires one to fill in personal details to log in to the system.
Include your KCSE index number, KCSE year, and password.
Note that the password can be either your birth certificate number or the KCSE index number.
After you have logged in, you will have the ability to choose up to four courses, sorting them from the one in which you are most interested to the one in which you are least interested.
Click the “Submit” button.
