The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has dismissed claims that it has opened its portal for 2021 KCSE candidates to apply or revise courses they had selected earlier through the School/principal’s portal.

On Friday 13th May the Placement Service flagged a viral message shared on WhatsApp as fake as it encouraged parents, guardians and candidates to wait for official communication from the agency.

“It’s now official that the KUCCPS portal is now open for 2022/2023 University, Colleges and TVET applications.” Reads part of the fake post.

Students who scored a minimum of a C+ can apply for degree courses in both public and Private universities countrywide.Students with a mean grade of C- and above qualify for diploma courses, D+ qualify for certificate while the rest can apply for artisan courses” the post further read.
