The government of the republic of Kenya has once again come up with a promise to the student of the great universities in the country especially those who are yet to join as first years in the coming years.
Speaking today in Western Region Ambassador Nabukwesi has urged young people to update and familiarize themselves with computer basics.
He said that if a young man is computer illiterate then he or she is illiterate in all sectors. He said that they have asked the government to buy laptop for every first years.
“I want to tell you young people, that if you are computer illiterate then you’re illiterate in all sectors of life. The university nowadays venture in digital platforms and online teaching. That is why we have proposed to the government to buy every first year a laptop,” he said.
He went on to say that nowadays universities lean on the e- library more than the physical library and thus there’s need for young people to have basic knowledge of the gadget.
He also said that in scholarship programs many students don’t apply because they either don’t know about computer or they don’t follow up on scholarship.
Many universities use the E-library more than the physical library, you need to be computer literate to understand some things. Also in our scholarship programs, many individuals when we check don’t apply because they either don’t know about the programs or they don’t know about computer,” he added.
