Secondary school principals in Kisii and Nyamira counties have been affected by the country’s continuous routine transfer of principals and other teachers.
Mr. Masiwo, the Chief Principal of Suneka High School, was recently transferred to Homabay County’s Tom Mboya High School.
Mr. Pius Ngoma, Kisii County Director of Education, confirmed the transfer but did not name the moved Principal’s replacement.
Dr.Wara, the long-serving Principal of Kebirigo High Institution in Nyamira County, was likewise transferred to an unnamed school.
When approached, he just replied with a single sentence.
“It’s true that I was transferred when I least anticipated it,” he admitted.
The principal, who had just handed in the registration and nominal role of the 2022 KCSE candidate to the education offices for certification, wanted the school continued to do well in the steering department, which he had established.
He left the school after leading his 311 students to achieve direct admission to university with the exception of one who received a C plain.
Thirteen students received an A-, 107 B+, 127 B plain, 50 B-, 13 candidates received a C+, and only one student received a C plain.
The school received a mean score of 9.2, which is two points higher than the results of the 2020 examination.
In September last year,Following the promotion of Mr Andrew Buop,the principal Maseno School to the position of Education ambassador in New York, USA ,the Ministry of Education necessitated transfer and elevation of principals.
The vacancy left by Mr Buop in Maseno School will be filled by the Principal Kabianga High Dr Joash Aloo.
Mr Peter Owino,the principal Baringo High school headed to Kabianga High School in Kericho County to Replace Dr Aloo.
The transfers came barely two months after the Ministry transfered the principal of Kerongorori High School’s Mrs Tabitha Mogoi to Riambase in Nyamache Sub-county to fill the post of the school’s former principal who died early last year.
Her transfer paved way for the former principal of Botoro Secondary School in Marani Sub-county.
The principal of Nduru Girls School, Grace Onyango was transferred to Rabura Mixed Secondary School in Siaya County.
Other principals who faced transfers in 2021 include the principal of Tarang’anya High School in Migori County Mr. Aliva who was moved to Terem High school to replace Mr. Benard Wamanga who was moved to Kivaywa Secondary School in Kakamega County.
