The Ministry of Education under the leadership of Professor George Magoha has been working round the clock to ensure that schools recover the lost time witnessed in the 2020 academic calendar.
Stakeholders had to come up with strategic plans on how to recover the lost time hence adjusted academic calendar differently.
For the first time in the education history, students will be sitting for over 5 National examinations in one academic year.
The candidates includes the current class 8, current grade 6, current form four candidates among others.
However, the country’s political temperature is beginning to rise ahead of the August general elections.
According to reliable sources, some schools maybe closed to pave way for a smooth election process.
According to the new academic dates, there will be a mid term break of 3 days in term one of 2022 as schools will be expected to close for only ten days and resume on 11th of July 2022.
Term three on the other hand will run from September 26th to November 25th after which KCPE exams will run from 28th of November through 1st of December.
KCSE candidates will then sit for their National exams from 1st of December through 23rd of December 2022.
