The teachers employer is always working tirelessly with the core aim of dealing with the shortage of teachers in the country for the full implementation of the competency-based curriculum.
The commission has therefore announced mass recruitment of teachers and relaxed qualifications for other teachers in this exercise.
TSC CEO Nancy Macharia while speaking in Mombasa explained that the government gave the greenlight of the enrollment process following the mass exodus of non-local teachers from the north Eastern region part of Kenya.
Dr. Macharia added that the teacher’s employer is committed to work with locals and leaders from this region to sign up and train teachers .
TSC CEO however clarified that hiring was open to professionals from all regions.
In a statement she said , “It is true, non-local staff does not prefer working in North Eastern due to security-related issues. We are, therefore, working with area leaders to sign up teachers originating in the region as well as in other regions.”

She added that teacher retirees below the age of 65 years can apply since qualifications have been waived.
