Teachers Service Commission is the only commission in Kenya that is mandated to recruit, promote and transfer teachers from one working station to another.
There has been fears that teachers holding Primary Teachers Education (PTE) certificate but have not upgraded to diploma Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) will be locked out of teachers service commission employment.
However, TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia during a meeting Workshop in Naivasha has assured the teachers that they will still be employed despite the policy change.
Remember when we were training certificate P1 teachers it was a government policy all those trained before the policy came in place must be employed and they will not be disadvantaged.” Macharia said.
TSC is expected to employ more teachers after the Education Ministry recommended an increase of 15 billion shillings to its annual budget.
The increased funding under teacher resource management implies that the commission is set to recruit more teachers and carter for an increment of salaries.
The following is the latest updated calendar that will be used by the diploma upgrading students in the training.
