Schools countrywide have reopened for the third term following na short break after the busy festive season.
This year, teachers and learners are going to have a busy schedule where it is expected that learners are going to learn four terms as the ministry of education aims to normalize the education calendar after it was disrupted by the Covid19 pandemic.
However,the government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna says learning will not be disrupted despite the number of covid-19 infections being on upward trajectory.
The government plans to upscale vaccination to all Kenyans. Upto now,more than 9 million Kenyans have been vaccinated.
The government through the ministry of sports have already rolled out a plan to re introduce sporting activities with an aim of engaging learners in schools.
In today’s report,the government says 1,223 people tested positive of the disease in the last 24 hours.
The positivity rate now stands at 30.6%. The heads of schools have been advised to put measures in schools to ensure health protocols are met to avoid further outbreak of the virus.
