Primary school teachers have reasons to smile as new details about their salary increment surface.
According to reliable sources, the lowest primary school teacher will earn sh. 27000 from the current sh. 21000.
Details about presidential speech indicate that 70 billion shillings have been set a side for teachers’ salary increment and hiring of teachers.
The Teachers Service Commission boss Dr. Nancy Macharia says that the president has taken this move to please teachers who are unhappy with their current salaries.
In the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement, teachers have been allocated monetary benefits as compared to non-monetary CBA which was signed by KNUT Secretary General.
Teachers are expected to start receiving their salary increment any time from this month.
