KSSSA, or Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association Following the reopening of schools on Thursday, Term two games began again the following week.
After schools were abruptly closed by Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha to make space for the August 9 general elections, also the games were abruptly postponed two weeks ago.
According to Thomas Odhiambo, secretary of the Nyanza Secondary Schools Sports Association, counties have until August 27 to complete their championships.
All counties will hold their games by August 27, as per to discussions with the office of the regional director of education, Says Mr Odhiambo.
The regional championships will be held from August 31 to September 3 at Homa Bay High School and Asumbi Teachers Training College, he added.
The Nyanza regional swimming gala will take place on August 28 at Aga Khan Primary School in Kisumu.
A team will be chosen from the competitions to represent the area at the national championships, which will take place in Nakuru between September 8 and September 13.
A squad will be chosen here to represent the nation at the games of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association, which will take place in Arusha, Tanzania, from September 14 to September 24.
According to secretary George Osura, the county championships will take place in Homa Bay from August 24 to 27 at Maseno School in Kisumu.
Migori County games will be held at Kanyawanga and Kangeso secondary schools while Nyambaria School will be the venue for the Nyamira games.
In Kisii, Cardinal Otunga High School, Mosocho and Kisii School will host the games.
Nduru Boys is expected to dominate the Kisii County games having won most titles during the Gucha South Sub County championships while Nyanchwa Boys will go for a fourth consecutive boys’ basketball title.
