Under the CBA signed in 2016 by the TSC and the teachers’ union, teachers receive a basic salary and allowances.
Although the increase in basic pay was largely welcomed by administrators, the Salaries and Wages Commission significantly increased teachers’ salaries.
This article explores TSC allowances for each of the job groups teachers are interested in and the difference in housing costs depending on where you study.

Annual leave
Annual leave is paid to all teachers at the beginning of each year. Teachers in occupational groups B5 and C1 receive leave from Ksh. 4000, C2 to C5 get 6000.
D1 to D5 teachers, especially administrators, are paid Ksh. 10,000
In addition, hardship allowances are paid to teachers in certain hardship areas in the following districts:

Another allowance called Reader/facility/allowance is given to blind teachers and lecturers who are in wheelchairs due to disabilities.
This allowance is paid at the rate of Ksh. 15,000 a month commuting allowance to TSC teachers
Every teacher working at TSC receives a monthly transport allowance based on their work group;
