In the latest reshuffle by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), six county directors have been transferred to new stations.
Among those affected by the new changes is Murang’a County Director Jane Mwendwa, who now reports to Nyamira. Wilson will replace Koros, who has moved to Bungoma. Koros replaced Japeth Kariuki who moved to Nakuru in similar circumstances.
Kariuki, on the other hand, will replace Fredrick Nganga who moved from Nakuru to Muranga. Ngang’a will take it from Ibu Mwenda.
Similarly, Joyce Kikuvi, who was Kirinyaga County Director will now be replaced by Dr. Samuel Marigat, who served as Mombasa County Director.
This comes hot on the heels of a major shake-up by the commission last month. In the changes, a number of deputy directors were promoted to full directors and a number of directors were transferred to new positions due to the retirement of former office staff and other considerations.
The provincial head is given the responsibility of managing teachers at the regional level. Responsibilities include teacher recruitment, transfer and disciplinary coordination, among other duties.
They report to regional directors in the new organizational structure. Before that, they informed the TSC headquarters staff.
