The day on which newly hired teachers are required to report to their stations has been announced by the teachers’ employer. It is a relief for the tutors hired by the Teachers Service Commission, TSC, in 2023, who have been waiting for good news.
The Commission announced a number of job openings in December 2022. Some of the available positions are shown in below.
- 9,000 secondary school posts on permanent and pensionable terms to be posted to Junlor Secondary Schoos. .
- 1,000 primary school posts on pemanent and pensionable terms.
- 21,550 secondary school posts on Intermship to be posted to Junior Secondary Schools.
- 4,000 primary school posts on internship.
The Commission wishes to lay emphasis on the need to ensure that all the newly recruited teachers report to schools on 1st February 2023. Ensure strict adherence to the timelines. This calls for sacrifice in making maximum use of the limited time.
Once the recruitment exercise is over, posting letters for the teachers will be collected at the county offices. The letters are to be picked by principals and school heads.
What you need to know about the posting letter
The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, sends a letter of employment (a “letter of probationary employment”) to a newly recruited teacher after successfully vetting the teachers’ documents. The letter is sent to the teacher through the station where she has been posted to serve under TSC terms. In the letter, the Commission Secretary spells out the entry level of the teacher, i.e., Junior Secondary School Teacher II, for teachers entering the profession as degree holders. The station where the teacher has been posted and the learning areas to be handled are also listed on the employment letter
