TSC Transfers 154 Teachers, Check out reasons Why they got transferred.
Teachers who had previously been relocated to other stations across the nation have been replaced by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Nyanza.
A total of 154 primary teachers and 32 secondary teachers who were transferred gave a variety of justifications for the move, including getting married, staying too long at one job, parents getting older, having health problems themselves, feeling unsafe, experiencing domestic violence, and children’s medical conditions
According to Stephen Yida Ajanga, the regional director for TSC Nyanza, instructors submitted transfer requests in 2021 and 2022.
The primary school teachers were replaced during the recruitment of lot 6539/JULY/2022, and the secondary school teachers were replaced during the recruitment of lot 4000/JULY/2022. All of the transferred teachers have already been replaced.
To support the government strategy on a complete transition of students from primary to secondary schools and to address the ongoing teacher shortage, TSC posted 5,000 teaching openings in July of this year.
TSC reviewed the guidelines for teachers’ transfer eligibility in April of this year.
Instructors who had been employed for at least three (3) years since their first appointment were eligible for transfers, according to a TSC circular dated April 4, 2022, with the exception of North Eastern teachers, who had to work for five years before becoming eligible.
Before being eligible for a transfer, instructors had to have worked at their existing stations for at least five years.
Unlike in the past when married instructors were transferred to distant stations and family reunions could only be held during the holidays, the current transfer policy now takes family matters and couples into consideration.
A change from the previous policy exempted teachers with documented terminal illnesses and those 56 years of age or older from transfers out of their present sub county of employment.
