Over the past few days, bewilderment and controversy has been the order of the day in gne Building Bridges Initiative Camp. This is after claims there were strong and sharp differences within the BBI family. However, recent utterances by James Orengo, the Siaya senator may bring a sigh of relief.
James Orengo revealed on May 1, 2021 that the much anticipated BBI bill will be given a go ahead in both the senate and the national assembly. This is actually different from what has been making news headlines in the public domain that BBI was in a wheelchair due to an in-house misunderstanding.
‘BBI will be passed in both the National Assembly and the senate by next week, and that remains to be our strong and unshaken stand. We shall be marching to the referendum polls come July or August this year and I would encourage all the netizens to vote Yes because am pretty sure it will succeed ‘. Said Orengo.
Orengo who was in the company of Otiende Amollo, the Rarieda constituency MP and deputy governor for Siaya County honorable James Okumbe uttered all this during the final send off of Mama Kezaih Obama, who is Barack Obama’s stepmother
His utterenaces were thereafter echoed by Otiende Amollo who also agreed with his views.
‘All the 47 counties received the bill in their respective assemblies and this county; Siaya was the first one to pass the bill. As a result, we are with it fully in parliament. We are doing everything possible to ensure it reaches the referendum early enough when it has been read thoroughly, understood by all and sundry and properly accepted. ‘ Said Otiende Amollo.
Earlier on, there were huge concerns and fear over rumors that were spreading all over that senator Jamea Orengo and Otiende Amollo were not dancing to the BBI tune. However, their recent utterenaces and public declaration in Siaya can finally cool down the ongoing shocking tensions in the BBI camp together with the handshake team.
